Regulatory Code Search
Regulatory Code Search finds relevant passages in Singapore building and planning documents for the AI model to use in its answer. Unlike a normal AI chat, its answers are grounded in indexed source documents and may include citations and source images where available.
Results can still be incomplete or misinterpreted. Check the cited source and consult the relevant authority or a qualified professional before relying on an answer for compliance, design, or safety decisions.
Enable Regulatory Code Search
Open Settings → Skills & Tools → Tools and enable Regulatory Code Search. The tool must be enabled before the model can use it in a chat.
You can then select the tool from the message box by typing @ and choosing Regulatory Code Search. Ask your question in the same message.
How to get effective results
Be specific about the topic you want to search. If you know which document is relevant, include its name. For example, “look in the Fire Code” or “check the Accessibility Code.” You do not need to type the full or exact document name; a related name is enough for the tool to identify the appropriate document.
Effective prompts include:
What is the maximum travel distance for a sprinkler-protected office?
What clear width is required at an accessible entrance under Singapore accessibility requirements?
What is the GPR and storey height control for Educational Institution
What are the requirements for an on-site stormwater detention tank, including its design and discharge rate?
Use complete, familiar terms. A model may not understand project-specific shorthand, uncommon abbreviations, or highly technical jargon without context. For example, write Predominant Sky Terrace Storeys before using PSTS, and describe what a specialist term means if it could have more than one interpretation.
